Free website speed test

Test your website speed.
See what's costing you customers.

Someone visits your site, waits three seconds, and leaves. They don't complain — they just go to a competitor. This tool runs a live audit against Google's Core Web Vitals so you can see exactly where the problem is, and what to fix first.

53%

of mobile visitors leave if a page takes over 3 seconds. That's more than half your traffic — gone before they see a thing.

7%

drop in conversions for every extra second of load time. Two seconds slow? That's 14% of your leads, gone.

90+

the score Google considers "good" for Core Web Vitals.

What it measures

Core Web Vitals — the three metrics
Google actually ranks you on.

LCP

Largest Contentful Paint

How quickly the main content appears.

A visitor lands on your page and sees nothing but white for two seconds. They don't wait — they hit back. That's a lost customer before your site even loaded.

CLS

Cumulative Layout Shift

How much the page jumps around while loading.

Someone goes to tap your phone number and the page shifts — now they've hit an ad. It feels broken. They don't try again.

TBT

Total Blocking Time

How long the page is frozen while scripts load.

Your visitor taps 'Get a quote' and nothing happens. They tap again. Still nothing. By the time the page responds, they've already decided you're not worth the hassle.

Common questions

You're probably wondering.

Why is my WordPress site so slow?

Usually it's one of three things: unoptimised images, too many plugins loading scripts on every page, or a bloated theme or page builder like Elementor or Divi. The theme alone can add 2–3 seconds of load time before your content even appears.

What is a good Google PageSpeed score?

Google considers 90+ a pass. For competitive search terms, that's the minimum you need to avoid losing rankings. Below 50 means your site is actively costing you traffic — and probably customers too.

Does website speed affect Google rankings?

Yes. Since 2021, Google uses Core Web Vitals — load speed, visual stability, and interactivity — as direct ranking signals. A slow site loses visibility even when the content is strong.

Why is my mobile score lower than desktop?

Mobile devices have less processing power and often slower connections, so everything takes longer. Google also indexes and ranks based on your mobile score, not desktop — so that's the number that actually matters.

What are Core Web Vitals?

Three metrics Google uses to measure your site's real-world performance: how fast the main content loads (LCP), how stable the layout is while loading (CLS), and how quickly the page responds when someone interacts with it (TBT). Fail these and your rankings suffer.

What is the difference between lab data and field data?

Lab data is what this tool gives you — a simulated test under controlled conditions, useful for diagnosing specific problems. Field data comes from real visitors over time and shows up in Google Search Console. Google uses both, but field data is what actually determines your Core Web Vitals pass or fail.

How often should I test my website speed?

After any significant change — a new plugin, a theme update, adding images or video. Beyond that, once a month is enough to catch issues before they affect your rankings. Scores can shift without you touching anything if your hosting degrades or a plugin updates in the background.

Why did my PageSpeed score drop suddenly?

Common culprits: a plugin updated and added heavier scripts, your hosting provider moved you to a slower server, or someone uploaded uncompressed images. Sometimes Google updates its scoring thresholds too. Running a fresh test will show you exactly what changed.

Next step

Know what's wrong.
Now let's fix it.

A report tells you what's broken. Kaizen tells you what to do about it — and can do the work too. Whether it's image optimisation, code cleanup, or a full rebuild, the fix starts with a conversation.
